| The opponent throws an overhand right punch. |
| We drop our weight slightly to the right, |
| and weave under it, coming up in usual fashion, to the outside. |
| We are now set to throw a left hook, |
| followed very naturally by a low right round kick to the inside of his lower right leg. |
| Remember that the lower we kick his leg on the inside, the lower we are on ‘the lever’ and the more easily we will shift his leg outward. |
| This action brings his head forward |
| and makes it an easy matter to establish control on his head and right arm. |
| We call this ‘head-arm’ control. Step forward with our left leg, |
| before falling back and kicking him over with our right leg (between his legs). |
| As he hits the floor behind us, |
| drive back and down into the floor with our head, thereby controlling his movement. |
| Walk around toward our right arm |
| and establish our side control position. |
