The master escape artist, Nilton Martens, first joined up at the Geelong Academy to get fit and lose some weight. Within a few short years he went from a pudgy, gold chain-wearing kid to one of the best competitors on the scene.
Nilton has won many tournaments at national level and is one of the most dedicated and nicest people you would ever hope to meet. Quick to smile, always willing to help, he is loved by everyone who trains with him.
Nilton was awarded his BJJ Black Belt by John Will in September 2007.
