BJJ Black Belt Stephen Kamphuis This weekend (05/11/2004) was a milestone for Philippines resident Stephen Kamphuis, who received his Black Belt from John Will and Anthony Lange.
Affectionately known as ‘Judo’ Steve, Mr Kamphuis was a very successful Judo competitor, before taking up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Sydney instructor Anthony Lange in the 90’s.
Steve displayed his competitive prowess in Brazil this year by convincingly taking out the masters brown belt division and coming home with Gold.
He has since moved to the Philippines, where he has opened up the official branch of Will-Machado BJJ. He already has a strong following, and is a great ambassador for our art in the Filipino martial arts community.
